پژوهشكده گياهان دارويي جهاددانشگاهي در مهرماه 1377 آغاز به كار نمود و در سال 1380 به عنوان مركز تحقيقات گياهان دارويي جهاددانشگاهي مورد تصويب شوراي گسترش دانشگاه‌هاي علوم پزشكي وزارت بهداشت، درمان و آموزش پزشكي قرار گرفت. در حال حاضر اين پژوهشكده با اعضاي هيأت علمي و كارشناس در مقاطع دكتري و كارشناسي ارشد در چهار گروه پژوهشي، يك مركز خدمات تخصصي در زمينه‌هاي آناليز، فرمولاسيون و توليد فرآورده‌هاي دارويي - گياهي فعاليت دارد.

 

موقعيت جغرافيايي و امكانات

ساختمان اصلي پژوهشكده گياهان دارويي در مجتمع تحقيقاتي در كيلومتر 55 جاده تهران – قزوين قرار دارد. اين پژوهشكده 14000 مترمربع زيربنا دارد كه گروه‌هاي پژوهشي و مركز خدمات تخصصي در آن استقرار دارد. در كنار ساختمان اصلي 10 هكتار مزرعه و 35 گلخانه با زيربناي تقريبي 1200 متر مربع تحقيقاتي و توليدي، يك واحد عصاره‌گيري و يك مركز توليد و بسته‌بندي گياهان دارويي و داروهاي گياهي در حال فعاليت تحقيقاتي - تخصصي مي‌باشد.
